Music Festival website - A wildly civilized weekend of music, creativity and culinary excellence

Get ready for a wildly civilized weekend of music, creativity and culinary excellence. Vancouver is getting a new multi-day summer festival with entertainment, food, and art components which promises to be Metro Vancouver’s new signature summer finale.

Intergalactic is excited to be a part of the launch for this newest event and worked with partners Brand Live and Will Creative to build and host the teaser announcement for the festival. Featuring full screen video backgrounds and a teaser montage hyping the announcement, the excitement of the press release has the media cheering. Having built the previous Squamish Valley Music Festival 2015 website, we are pleased to continue our relationship with the team.

BRAND LIVE, the event production company responsible for events such as Squamish Valley Music Festival and Honda Celebration of Light, has announced that SKOOKUM will run from September 7-9, 2018 at Brockton field in Stanley Park. The event will have a capacity of 20,000 people per day.

There will be multiple stages featuring the best contemporary music across broad genres, styles, and cultures. The site will be animated with live and multimedia art installations, in addition to roaming talent and surprise pop-up performances. A “sophisticated” food and beverage program will be offered to provide unique culinary experiences, along with tasting areas that showcase the best BC wines, craft beers, and craft distilleries.

The weekend will also include events in Downtown Vancouver that will be known as “SKOOKUM After Dark” related events situated in downtown Vancouver. The weekend will also include a series of late night events in the downtown core branded as “SKOOKUM After Dark”.

The full festival line-up, including music acts, will be unveiled next spring.

“This festival is the result of a conversation that began five years ago to create a more accessible and inclusive festival for Vancouver and British Columbia,” said Paul Runnals, the Festival Director of SKOOKUM and a Partner at BRAND LIVE, in a statement.
“We want to evolve the festival experience and establish a new standard for creative expression across the three pillars of Music, Food and Art – all set in one of the most spectacular locations in the world. SKOOKUM is the embodiment of this vision and we could not be more excited to share this announcement.”

The aim of SKOOKUM is to “celebrate diversity and creativity and showcase some of the very best in music, food and art,” according to media materials. “SKOOKUM is about the music that moves us, the food that delights us and the art that inspires us.”
